No Brunei Participants In AF 3

Bandar Seri Begawan - Kristal-Astro in Brunei said it can confirm that there will be no Brunei participation in the selection for students to attend the Akademi Fantasia season 3 in Kuala Lumpur this year.
Hj Ismawi Dato Paduka Hj Kifli, the General Manager of Kristal Group, made the confirmation to the Borneo Bulletin yesterday.
However, there was no reason given for the non-participation of Bruneians in the part talent reality show, which had stormed the nation for the past two years.
The Astro website has also been updated and the screen test that is supposed to take place in the capital on April 2 had been taken off.
Earlier, the Astro website had listed Bandar Seri Begawan as the final location for the screen test to enter the academy which has been responsible in grooming entertainment talents in Malaysia over the past two years.
In early February, Astro Malaysia announced in a press conference in Kuala Lumpur that talents from Brunei would be screen-tested for qualification to enter the academy.
However, sources close to Kristal Astro told the Bulletin that Astro Malaysia failed to receive approval from relevant authorities here.
The news that Brunei talents may appear in the Akademi Fantasia 3 received mixed reactions.
Some welcomed the news as giving a chance to locals to succeed as singers and actors in the entertainment career.
Others felt locals should not join the training academy as AF is a Malaysian programme. -- From of Borneo Bulletin.
Dahdemam: Frankly speaking, I think its all silly. I dont see why the authorities (whoever they are) couldnt just say yes to it. Its all good exposure for Bruneians which will in some ways help the music industry (which is almost non-existance) grow. They are not doing anything to help the industry grow here anyway. Fine theres singing competition and all but without a good exposure to an already experienced market, whats the use?? Its really all "katak bawah tempurong" actually. I was hoping atleast they would just say no audition here but interested individuals can goto KL or maybe KK for the audition but by looks of it, they are saying NO Brunei citizens can take part in it! Simply crap!

Greetings! This blog first came to life for my reviews and comments on Akademi Fantasia 2. It was more of a challenge to me as a way of developing my writing skills and basically also sharing ideas and thoughts with other fans. Alhamdulillah, the response has been good and I hope I will always be able to blog more on AF in the seasons to come.

I am NOT A PROFESSIONAL. Let it be known that I am not musically trained or had any experience in attending such musical studies and neither have I any stage performance experience. The closest thing related to music is probably my 10++ years experience as a bedroom & mobile dj. What you read here is my personal opinion, my "pandangan mata kasar" and shouldn't be taken so seriously as I am sure before you visited this blog, you have formed your own opinion. If you are easily influenced, then I would suggest you get offline as you will read lots of conflicting comments / articles / writings on many things and it could just get messy in your head trying to understand them all. As a visitor I respect and welcome your comments, as long as the understanding is vice versa. Any ratings I gave are based on my own criteria of what is musically entertaining to myself, e.g. goosebumps factor, etc., etc. So disagree or laugh all you want if you find it silly. The ratings are not meant to discredit or hurt anyones feelings as I remind you again I'm NOT A PROFESSIONAL critic or whatever you wanna call it. So just please take it all as light reading and dont take it to heart especially if you are academicly qualified in the matter at hand.
