desperation shows...

finally i managed to catch an af4 concert live, my first since the hoohaa started. and my verdict? lets just say i havent missed anything much. to put it in one word, i would have to choose 'boring' to describe it. lets add 'desperate' too, for the futile and lame efforts of astro to rake in as much money as they can by introducing afmasuk again. as joe klubbkidd said it, "money talks kan... ni bukan lagi pencarian bakat as far as I'm concerned." I truly share that sentiment after watching the concert..

the only bit that pleased me about the 8th concert is the exit of amirul. finally! honestly i so cant understand why he lasted so long. i'm guessing its the teen circles of fanatics who are actually blinded with his 'hey-im-cute-and-funny-so-i-cry-a-lot-too' antics. he so cant sing. so thank god he is out. but then again we might see him tainting the finals with his bleeurrghhness. i know theres no such word but thats what my reaction will be if he gets selected again.

oh theres another part of concert 8th that i like - the duet of farhan and velvet. i know the critics said it could be better but please give them a break. these are fresh new blood with barely 2 months of studies and experience. so for them to able to carry a song made big by two of the most successful divas from indonesia is simply amazing. clearly farhan and velvet, according to me, are probably the best female vocalist i've ever seen on af so far. and i was soooo relieved that they will be in the finals. i really, and i say that again, really wish that the winner this time around would be a girl. by the looks of things though, its very unlikely.

i'm not gonna go into detail and give my review of each performances made that night, i think theres a number of site that you can visit for that. but if you really wanna know how would my review be if i did one, go read joe klubbkidd's comments. again i share and agree to his views exactly. and dont get me started on the wardrobe! after 4 season, they still dont get it do they those astro wardrobe people?! blind! blind! blind! and ultimately tasteless.

the funniest moments of the night, which beat the yucky-miami-vice-suit and the murder of nirvana's eternal anthem would have to be when aznil walked off the stage! such a drama queen he is! he is good though, very convincing and i guess astro got their moneys worth. dont tell me that it wasnt planned because if you do believe its for real, then your a sucker for reality tv shows. theres too much play already on getting people emotional about af4, its really sickening. astro is getting desperate to rake in big money especially when they announced afmasuk again.

the astro people must be dreaming back to the glory days of af2 when us bruneians were allowed to vote. and if you guys over on that side of the peninsula is wondering how big is af4 here in brunei, i'll simply say the majority is quite bored of af. usually wherever you go, its all the talk about af. but now, when you mention af, somebody would likely say, "oh you still watch it?". ofcos undoubtedly there is a small following but this time around, if they come over to brunei, doing a 2 nights concert would be a big risk for the organisers.

this is year, i've heard talk that kristal astro brunei would be the main organiser because apparently, astro and maestro werent so happy about the af3 event organisation in brunei the last time around by an independent event management company. so it seems this af4 bunch would be lucky again like their af2 seniors, staying at empire hotel and be pampered like real celebrities. no idea yet when they are gonna be here but as soon as my sources drop the news, you'll be the first to know.

ok i guess thats all i have to say for the 8th concert. hopefully i'll have time for concert 9 and also the final one. take care peeps.
