Zahid 15% - Again despite what the critics and the tutors said, his was the most enjoyable. And being elected as the student leader is justified. His honest confession shows how much determination he has now eventhough he admitted he wasnt serious at first. His feeling of being left out and not given a proper attention like others built his spirits instead and motivated him more. He is truely talented. His version of that Yusri song, dare I say, is even better. I never heard of that song before but today I somehow I managed to hear from the original artist. Still I say Zahid's version is still better. His next song is Where Is The Love (The Black Eyed Peas). I'm sure this song has been spun to death on the radio and played endlessly on MTV, everybodys heard of it, so I'm really anxious to see/hear Zahid's version soon. You can do it dude!
Adam 14% - You pulled it off dude! Although the critics said you werent impressive but those lot should remember that the song was performed by 4 professionally trained guys who had weeks or probably months to practise. So him being able to come up with a performance like that, being able to blend smoothly zahid, the backing singers, his two close buddies and the rest of the dancers was superb! And him now being on the top 3 with Zahid justifies his low-key determination to show his capabilities. Again, I will say that I enjoyed his performance, 2nd to Zahids'. Adam's next song is Keroncong Untuk Ana (M.Nasir), a comlete turn-around from Tipah Tertipu obviously. Man he is really being tested. Hmm....u guys think that the people assigning the songs are somehow having a little sadistic pleasure by giving them tougher songs each week? Worth a thought eh?
Mas 13% - I understand her situation. Yes her hardships and experience as a single mother, we may never know how difficult that is, but like Ramli MS said, shes gotta leave it behind. We sympathy her but she has to show her determination to improve. The tutors were hard on her last night, commenting on how shes been giving too much excuses and not showing the urge to improve. Harsh, but she needs to hear it and hopefully all that will be constructive to her. Again her performance in the last concert was stiff. If you've never heard of that Kylie song, you wont even be able to make out what shes saying. C'mon Mas, you gotta get with the program. Semakin Hari Semakin Sayang (Uji Rashid) is her next song, This song requires finese and really soft tones. I guess you young lot have never heard of the real version right? Well its nice and if you did manage to download it, play it, close your eyes and then try to imagine Mas singing it. It'll give you the chills!
Linda 13% - Looking all sweet and pretty in the dress designed by Fitri. She looks stiff and wasnt sure of her movement, My friends agreed that she sounds so foreign singing that Bunga Melor song. Also her voice is not really flexible, yes she hit her high notes but when it comes to "mengalun", she shows signs of fear that it might go flat. She to me looks distracted. Is it the same bug thats been pestering Kaer? I think its all the pressure at the top and somehow this lot cant maintain the ground. Linda's next song is Panti Asuhan, another song she has never heard before and an Indonesian one to boot too! Good luck babes!
Kaer 12% - It was another dull performance. He didnt do justice to Azizi's Umpan Ku Habis. Now we understand what a tough song that is. Now we understand how good Azizi was. Like the principal said last night, he has been lost for the past few weeks. His confidence is shattered, the pressure is getting to him and he is showing signs of cracking. I guess he just lose the spot for the Tag Heuer Malaysian spokesperson. I wonder whats getting to him? I'm guessing that finally he can see whos a big threat and this threat is improving their performances by the week. He worries also maybe because the songs given to him are all not suitable for his vocal range. Probably the principal is doing it on purpose to challenge him to show his versatility. He is slipping fast and I wont be suprise if he goes bottom of the order. His next number, Epilog Cinta Dari Bromley (Shuhaimi Meor Hasan) sounds like a punishment. I've never heard of that song, infact none of my friends had. Chin up dude! Rise to the occassion.
Zarina 11% - Named as the most improved female student and she deserves it too. Her performance last saturday is haunting and best not to be remembered when you are driving home alone after midnight! The visual effects accompanying her song made her gig even more solid. If I remembered correctly, she said she always pushed herself to apply all the techniques taught to them. She doesnt seem to worry what people might think of her, she just made sure she performed to her own best. Kaer should learn from her. Man I hope I'm not gonna get lotsa hate emails for the things I said about Kaer *hehe* Cos I know the ladies lurve him ;P Anways, i think Zarina is now a major contender and we will see her on the top 3 list soon. Penantian (Bienda) has been assigned to her for the next concert. Cant say I've heard this one either but I hope this will bring out her colors even more.
Bob 8% - The professional is slipping. Kudsia might be eating her words bout this guy "not needing AF to make it big" very soon if he cant improve. His performance was suprisingly ok. The leather jacket gives him that cuddly and cute image that probably captured the hearts of many. The song aint easy, after all the (proper) shouting and growling, the critics said it still lacks intensity. Well how do expect to potray more intensity when a cuddly person like him wearing a leather jacket, with that mask, jumping around the stage? Sometimes you feel the critics are just asking for the impossible. I think Bob did his best but I guess that song is not everyones cup of tea so probably why the votes didnt come for him? The next song is I Can See Clearly Now (Jimmy Cliff), a feel good song with quite a high bridge somewhere into the song. So this should be fun to watch.
Farah 8% - Miss Big Voice. Another stunning performance. She really sang her heart out. Not the flashy one as Linda & Zarina is, but she is on par with them. High pitching songs she'd probably had it for breakfast *hehe* This girl will be making her own way after AF2 is done and if I had my own recording company, I'd sign her up immediately. Her talent is understated and given the chance, I think she could be a suprise contestant for the finals. This week its Ya Maulai (Siti Nurhaliza). I'm not sure if I've heard this song before, but being a Siti song, I've probably mindlessly heard it. I think it wont be much of a fight for Farah to handle a Siti song. I'm requesting her be given and English song, a Kelly Clarkson number or maybe a Whitney Houston one, I Have Nothing would be good!
Nurul 8% - Miss Survivor. You gotta hand it to this girl, she either has a very big fan base or just damned lucky to still be in AF2. I'm not denying her talent though. Her performance last saturday was fun and very cute. It may not be a wow performance, but I'm very sure it was better than Mas's fancy number. It wont be so suprising really if shes one of the finalist, she might be Liza pt II. She is very fagile as I've said before but she is capable of churning out a solid performance. I think the moment that I dont see her name at the bootom of the chart when a concert starts, then I'll be worried. Her new song Ku Mohon (Sheila Majid). I think this will be just right for her and I'm putting my money on her doing it well. Every week the odds had been against her, this week I hope she'll move up and take the places of the ones who are now somehow lost with their thoughts. Kick ass girl!
And finally....
Anding - A performance to be proud off. You can see he gave his best but Sudirman's song is just not for anyone to carry, maybe no one can. It was a big challenge. He has stage presence and you cant help but focus on him. Determination is what he excel in, as the others all agree when they recall on their experience with him. His wasiat was really fun and showed creativity. I know lots of people wants him out for reasons known & also unknown to them. Bob revealed that he is a budding movie producer and would like to even produce video clips for all the students when they made it big. When his name was announced last saturday night, he was calm, as if knowing the result before-hand. Well he will be missed, especially his hair *hehe*. And in the next concert, I'm sure he will be having a good time, watching it next to Edlin and maybe the future in-laws? Gossips galore!
So thats my review of the last concert and a lil bit on their new songs for the next concert. Oh I must say also that in the last one, Aznil was at his best. Man that guy gets my vote as the best host ever! AF wouldnt be the same witthout him, so you ASTRO people better pay him good! *hehe* Oh also, thanks Sas for finally "bibiraning" with me. Sorry to hear bout you gonna miss all the AF fever here girl! Oh well no worries, I'll keep ya updated *hehe* You know.... we are soooo advanced here kan d Brunei ah, concert saturday night, the next day its on vcd already just $5 to buy. So like you can ask your bro or sis to get it, connect with them on MSN, ask them to point their webcam to the TV and walllaaaaaaaa, you have an AF webcast! Oooh ooohh ooohhh even better during the live concert! Got your head working eh? Then if your friends wanna come and watch with you, you can charge for viewing fee! Hahahahahahaha! Your profits can be then invested into your online bills or maybe on a new pair of shoe or jacket & so on.
